Flow Analytics by AGC has launched a new mobility project in Brussels, bringing intelligent intersection management to the city's streets.
This project introduces advanced intersection intelligence through LiDAR sensors and sophisticated analytics, opening the way to real-time, dynamic traffic signal management. Importantly, our solution is fully GDPR-compliant, with privacy built in from the start. Unlike camera-based systems, our LiDAR technology captures only anonymous spatial data by mapping movement and behavior patterns without recording or identifying individuals. No images or personally identifiable information are ever collected or stored. All data processing is done in accordance with GDPR principles, ensuring transparency, security, and purpose limitations.
Our technology also makes it possible for traffic signals to respond immediately to actual road conditions, whether it’s traffic building up, pedestrians waiting to cross, approaching cyclists, or the need to prioritize public transport. By adapting signals in real time, the system improves traffic flow, enhances safety, and supports more sustainable forms of mobility.
An important benefit of the Flow Analytics by AGC solution is its versatility: once installed, it can provide numerous mobility insights without requiring any hardware upgrades. This includes traffic volume measurement, origin-destination analysis, and proactive near-miss detection. This flexibility makes Flow Analytics by AGC uniquely efficient and future-proof, clearly differentiating it from traditional solutions.
The smooth rollout of this solution was made possible by our partners at SPIE Belgium, whose technical expertise, swift deployment, and dedicated support were crucial for the project's success. We're very grateful for their outstanding collaboration and look forward to achieving more together.
Stay tuned for future updates as Flow Analytics by AGC continues making urban mobility safer, smarter, and more adaptive in Brussels.

The project is operated with the support of the Smart City alderman of the City of Brussels.
